P.C.C.M. 71B / Empty Coal Hoppers Arrive

Greetings All,

Welcome to Penn Central Car Movements #71!!!

P.C.C.M. 71 will be a two layout virtual op between PC Ralph's Kings Port Division and my New York Central Train Layout.

The action started on Ralph's K.P.D. in P.C.C.M. 71A with empty coal hoppers being pulled from Kings Port Steel.
The empty hopper train, Extra 3007, was then dispatched to my Terminal Yard for subsequent loading at nearby Hudson Coal.

Here on the NYCTL's Hudson Division increased train traffic with our seasoned Bedford tower man 1/87th scale John B taking a few days off has led to massive congestion trying to get past a forgetful Bedford Tower operator to Terminal Yard.
Below 1/87th scale Alco Joe has been dispatched to bring in this outlawed train blocking the Empire City High Line Main Line with the local police endeavoring to learn the identity of the tower man responsible for having all of the intersections blocked.
Farther up on the fouled up High Line 1/87th scale PC Ralph gets questioned about the the tower man's identity. After pleading ignorance Ralph is directed to call the tower.
The tower operator, Arthur O'Reilly, identifies himself as new guy Frank Rossollino from the EL at Bangor PA and asks for a break. The E.C.P.D are not having it and will forward a citation in his name to the office. Wow!

While this is being played out Extra 3007 shows up and makes its way over the High Line to Terminal Yard

Extra 3007 rolls into Terminal Yard and pulls the empty hoppers across the weigh in motion scale on track #8.
The engines have cut from the train and head into the engine terminal for fuel, sand and water.
PC GP30 #2228 and GP40 #3007 ease into the sanding rack
Terminal Yard's newest yard switcher, PC U23C #6718 couples on to the rear of the coal extra.
The empties are shoved into track #4 to await motive power and dispatch to Hudson Coal for loading.
1/87th scale Robert R. is called for train CJ-1, the Coal Job, and reports to engine hostler Wet Willie to get his assigned power.
The Coal Job with two FM H16-44s waits to depart as 1/87th Alco Joe tows the intersection clogging train into Terminal Yard.
The Coal Job departs for Hudson Coal.
1/87th scale Robert R eases the train down the grade.
The Coal Job comes around the curve and stops on the Bedford secondary track while the conductor opens the switch into Hudson Coal.
Time to exchange loads for empties. The CJ-1 starts on track #3 pulling out five loaded hoppers.
Pulling five loads from track #2
The last five loads are pulled from track #1.
The CJ-1 now 30 cars long gets held at the signal near Bedford Tower. The engines will need to cross over to the main to shove the empties back to Hudson Coal.
Lets watch the action unfold here

The Coal Job comes back around the curve and heads for the grade to Terminal Yard.
1/87th scale Robert R has the the opposed piston engines firing on all cylinders as the FM units easily make the climb for home.
We'll cut it here for today as CJ-1 pulls the fifteen loaded hoppers for Kings Port Steel across the weigh in motion scale on track #8.
We'll pick up the action tomorrow in Terminal Yard
and dispatch the loaded coal train back to
Ralph's Kings Port Division and maybe get a clue
to who this Frank Rossolino is!

Thanks for reading and watching!!!
See ya tomorrow!!!

Looks like Towerman John B. can't take time off! He has a nice house, by the way. Temporary replacement Arthur O'Reilly neatly pulls a "Frank Rossollino" to get himself out of trouble! Who the %$&*! is that guy?!? I suppose law enforcement are going to get wise to this ploy! I enjoyed following Extra 3007 through various locations on the N.Y.C.T.L. in the video! It was also a pleasure to railfan the quick turnaround of the coal hoppers by CJ-1. The FM H16-44s have a great pulling power! Nice work setting up the next P.C.C.M. with cars on EB-2!

  2. Nice work on the coal job! Great video! So who is this guy? Is he Frank Rossollino or Frank Rossolino? Both railroads are doing a great job disguising who he is! I think both KPPD and ECPD along with the FBI, CIA, and NCIS should look into this matter!! Might as well call out the KPRS? They usually stumble on things! Looking forward to the next install!!

    1. Thank you 1:1 Sir Neal!!!

Who is the mysterious Frank Rossollino? Seems 1/87th scale trainmen and 1:1 model railroaders are dying to find out. Hopefully his identity will be revealed tomorrow!
