P.C.C.M. 60 / NYCTL Part 3

Greetings All,

Welcome back to the P.C.C.M. 60 Series!!!

We'll finish up the NYCTL's outbound portion today and pick up the action at Bedford NY with EBRR Train EB-4 heading towards Terminal Yard and passing the Bedford Turn, Train BT-27. 

EB-4 slips and slides into Terminal Yard.

BT-27 has it's engine in the lead and the train is ready to leave Bedford and head back to Terminal Yard.

BT-27 returns to Terminal Yard. 

Now it's time for the Yard Job to get everything set up. I find it very helpful to prepare a list of the cars leaving, where they came from, where they are going and how to block them for departure. 

The YJ starts its work by pulling loaded hoppers from the Coal Job.

The YJ is now working the cars brought in on EBRR Train EB-4. The GP-7 is pulling the cars down track 8 to pass the switch to track 9 to get to the engine terminal. To the right we can see our outbound train, Train NG-3 to Dewitt via Selkirk, starting to be built. 

The YJ has shoved the PC depressed center flat and two PC gons into the engine terminal for their next P.C.C.M. loads

The YJ is now working the front end of EB-4 and preparing these three cars for departure to the L.F.N.W. The Masonite All Door boxcar and LF.N.W. #160 are empties heading back to CA via Reiden Lake. The D&H 19123 is loaded with ink for Forley Lithographers in Manhattan Transfer via the West Egg car float. 

Our outbound train is taking shape. Block 4 can be seen in the distance with the cars for the L.F.N.W. D&H 19123 is just ahead of the caboose as it will be pulled off the train first for the West Egg car float. Block 3 consists of two hoppers of ore and six hoppers of coal going to Kings Port Steel, NYC Early Bird boxcar going to Boom's Ready Mix and PC gon #288673 going to the Hudson Valley Ag Coop. This block will be going to Williams Yard on the K.P.D. for delivery to their respective consignees.

Yard Job B has come over to pick up three empty PC 50' RBLs sitting on track 8. They are consigned to Bruce Electric Equipment within the Terminal Yard yard limits.

Over at Bruce Electric Equipment these three NYC 50' boxcars loaded with wire and cables for IBM in Binghamton NY on the KP&W are ready to go.

Yard Job B delivers the loaded NYC boxcars to track 8 for the Yard Job to add to our outbound train, NG-3.

The three PC RBLs are spotted at Bruce Electric Equipment for their next P.C.C.M. load.

Block 2 is now in place. The three NYC cars for IBM in Bingo Town, P&E #3638 from Reliable Machine Works loaded with a milling machine for Blue Ribbon Flour along with 

 B&M RBLs 109 & 110 loaded with cabinets for Zenith and PC #229036 loaded with labels for Van Winkle Canning. These cars will be delivered to their consignees out of the K.P.D.s West Mill Yard  

The Yard Job tacks on Block 1 consisting of these two empty EBRR boxcars specially painted for auto parts service going to IDEAL Auto Parts in Rock Ridge NJ on the A.P.R.R.  

The power called for our outbound train is a mix of EMD and GE units. The engines have left the engine terminal and are headed to the yard to couple up to their train. 

1/87th scale Kar Knocker has given NG-3 the OK to depart while Big Mike looks on at his favorite engines, GP30s and U Boats, in the same consist. 

Train NG-3 rolls into Bedford NY

Train NG-3 crosses onto Main 2 at Bedford Tower under the watchful eyes of tower operator 1/87th scale John B.

 NG-3 crosses the Empire City viaduct. Next stop Selkirk!

That wraps up the NYCTL's outbound portion of P.C.C.M. 60. The inbound portion will start next week once the guys finish their outbound moves and we have a chance to run those train movements.
