Penn Central Car Movement #29D

Greetings All,

Ralph has kicked the N.Y.C.T.L. portion of the P.C.C.M. 29 series my way after the series originated on his Kings Port Division.
http://kingsportdivision.blogspot.com/

Rail traffic for 1:1 Sir Neal's Atlantic Pacific Railroad heads in the opposite direction of rail traffic for the N.Y.C.T.L. so any freight cars going to his Rock Ridge Yard will not be covered here. We always send communications and dispatch sheets to each railroad to keep track of our freight cars that are in play. Ralph and I looking forward to Sir Neal's blog getting up and running this way we can report all car movements to readers of any of the three blogs.

Without further ado here is P.C.C.M. 29D;

To:         West Mill (K.P.D.)
               Rock Ridge (A.P.R.R.)
From:     Terminal Yard
Subject: Arrival of Train VN-4 (Selkirk to New York)

It's approximately 1830 hrs this first week of day light savings time and Penn Central Train VN-4 from Selkirk is making it's way thru Empire City over the High Line towards Terminal Yard
An ex NYC caboose bearing the "Road to the Future" slogan brings up the markers.
VN-4 is being pulled by railroad royalty! PC# 7675 aka "The Sir Larry" and A.P.R.R #358 aka "The Sir Neal" get the green light from 1/87 scale tower operator John B at Bedford Tower.
VN-4 meets this idling unit coal train that is awaiting a crew on track 3.
VN-4 passes the coal train's ex NH caboose.
VN-4 at the T&R Gravel Curve and beginning it's climb to Terminal Yard
1/87th scale PC Ralph is giving the trainmen of the Metro Division a quick course on the Penn Central's newest invention, the Kar Trak A.C.I. (Automated Car Identification) scanner. Looks like 1/87th scale Larry D has hopped up on his namesake engine for a ride thru the yard as VN-4 makes it's arrival 1900 hours at Terminal Yard.
The scanner automatically records the car's arrival at Terminal Yard. Check out the build project for this here: http://kingsportdivision.blogspot.com/2017/03/kartrak-aci-on-kings-port-division.html
A Dispatch sheet prepared by 1/87th scale Cappy Foster at West Mill Yard on the Kings Port Division was sent to Terminal Yard prior to the trains arrival. This will be used to block the trains for local delivery and interchange.
Terminal Yard out...

  2. Nice reporting Sir John. The 'blog' is on my 'to do' list. I see the pressure is mounting here for the blog, and it will happen. ETA should be in the late summer.
