Empire City Turn with bonus coverage

Greetings All,

Due to heavy congestion at Empire City's North Side Yard caused by the lingering effects of system wide labor unrest today's EC-1 (Empire City Turn) originates at Terminal Yard. EC-1 will bypass North Side yard and work only a few of the local industries.

The EC-1 crew gets this rare NYC RS-2 still in lightning stripes. 1/87th Scale Sir Neal being the senior engineer on the N.Y.C.T.L. will be at the helm of this fine looking ALCO. He will be ably assisted by Engineer Ed who will the fireman and a head brakeman from the extra board.
Riding the caboose will be 1/87th scale Conductor John R with PC Ralph performing the rear brakeman duties. Conductor John R check his watch and lets the crew know it's time to go!
The Empire City Turn meets the Bedford Park Turn at Bedford NY
It is definitely an ALCO week on the N.Y.C.T.L.! EC-1 passes an A.T.S.F. FA-FB-FB-FA lash up in the classic warbonnet paint scheme. A Holiday favorite for Empire City rail fans even though the Santa Fe did not roster any FA or FBs. Maybe they should have!
EC-1 makes it way thru the West Side reverse curve and 1/87th scale Engineer Ed has come out to the front platform to exchange Holiday Greetings with Hohman Ave Tower Operator 1/87th scale Larry D! Looking past the locomotive to the right we can see the head brakeman has uncoupled the IC car from the train.
Empty IC boxcar #30130 is spotted at Prestage Gear. This car will be loaded with machine parts for Sal's Salvage in West Mill NY
A 50' NYC boxcar that was pulled from Prestage Gear is coupled up to the rest of EC-1 and the train is back underway
EC-1 comes around the West Side
EC-1 begins it's work at Moore & Company. Below the crew is pulling A.P.R.R. and C.B.& Q. boxcars.
Empty 40' boxcars EL  #73510 and PC #77047 are spotted at Moore & Co. EL #73510 will be loaded with burlap bags for Boom's Ready Mix in Kings Port NY and PC #77047 will be getting 1/2 ton burlap bags for Hedberg Aggregates in Marion NY.
It's switching work complete EC-1 heads thru Midtown on it's way back to Terminal Yard.

But wait there's more! Bonus Holiday Coverage!
The 1/87th scale crew of EC-1 has yarded their freight cars and have been assigned to an R.E.A. transfer run. The R.E.A. cars came in on Train DCN-2 out of Dewitt NY. In the spirit of the Holidays 1/87th scale Sir Neal gives the throttle to Engineer Ed for this trip.
The R.E.A. Transfer runs downgrade thru Bedford and under Bedford Station
1/87th scale Conductor John R and Brakeman PC Ralph have the windows closed tight on the caboose to keep the smoke out wile in the tunnel
Heading down grade to Empire City Station.
Passing Ralph's Grocery Warehouse and Gervais Pipe and Fitting
Entering Empire City Station on track#1
1/87th scale Double E has run the engine around the train and the RS-2 is shoving against the caboose as they head for the Railway Express Agency
Spotting cars at the REA siding
Now designated Extra 8213 the crew runs back to Terminal Yard caboose lite.
Happy Holidays from the 1/87th scale employee's of the N.Y.C.T.L.!
